| The
West Africa Animal Traction Network aims to foster the use of animal power for
agricultural development and actively encourages the exchange of information
and cooperation among its members in West Africa and elsewhere. One means to
facilitate such liaison is through technical workshops. In the period 1985 to
1990, the network held four major international workshops. Much of the
information presented is still relevant today, and the proceedings of the four
workshops have now been available here online, and all the workshop report and
papers presented can be downloaded here. Some papers and reports are in French
and others are in English'
The workshops were: "Animal
traction in a farming systems perspective" In 2003 a further workshop was held and information is also available here (in French) "Traction animale et stratégies d'acteurs : quelle recherche, quels services face au désengagement des Etats ?"
